Factory Reset & Account Setup for Roku or Amazon Fire TV
Overview
If a guest encounters a PIN-related issue on a Roku or Amazon Fire TV, a factory reset is the best solution. This will allow them to log into their own account or create a new one.
Steps After a Factory Reset
1.Log In or Create an Account
•Guests can log into an existing Roku or Amazon account.
•If they don’t have an account, they can create one during setup.
2.Downloading Apps & Subscription Responsibility
•Guests can install their preferred apps after setup.
•Any apps requiring a membership (e.g., Netflix, Disney+) must be paid for by the guest.
3.Setting Up a PIN (Recommended)
•When adding a credit card, the system typically asks to create a PIN.
•This prevents unauthorized purchases.
•Some users also set up a PIN for parental control.
Why a Factory Reset is Needed
•If a previous guest set up a PIN and it is unknown, a factory reset is the only way to regain full access.
•After resetting, the TV will function like a brand-new device, allowing guests to personalize it as needed.
